How it works

  1. You connect your bank

    Stripe handles authentication directly — your credentials never touch our servers.

  2. We read your transactions

    Stripe sends us read-only transaction data: date, amount, and merchant name.

  3. We match against your lists

    Transactions are compared to the merchant lists you subscribe to. That's it.
We never sell your data. We never show ads. We never build marketing profiles. Your spending data is used for merchant matching — nothing else.

Technical details

When you connect your bank account, Stripe Financial Connections handles the entire authentication process. Your credentials are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant — the highest level of certification in the payments industry.

All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS (HTTPS). Your financial data is stored in encrypted databases.

Yes. Stripe handles the bank connection — we never see your login credentials. We only receive read-only access to your transaction history. Only you. Your transaction data is used solely to match against the merchant lists you subscribe to. We do not share it with any third party. No hard feelings. We immediately lose access to new transaction data. You can request full deletion of your existing data at any time. Never. Not now, not ever. We're a non-profit with no investors and no advertisers.
